Denver Downs Field Trip

We had such a fun time last week at our MMO field trip to Denver Downs farm.  It has been a couple of years since we have gone to Denver Downs, and this year was so much fun now that the boys are a bit older and could participate in all of the activities there.  The boys especially enjoyed carving and decorating the pumpkins we got from the farm.

On the hayride

Will had a hard time selecting just one pumpkin

Jackson loved the rope swing

Carowinds Adventure

This past weekend we went to Charlotte and visited Carowinds.  It was the first time that the boys and Brian had been.  It was the first time in probably over 20 years that I had been. Hannah Smith, if you read this, you were right about it having a lots of fun rides for the little ones.  My boys had an absolute blast.  We got there right when the park opened and stayed until right after four.  The boys were completely exhausted by the end of the day.

Since it was close to Halloween, the park had set up a scavenger hunt where the kids got prizes at each of the stores, here is Jackson sporting his first prize, a pirate hat

School Starts

A few weeks ago the boys started back to preschool at our church.  This is the first year that Will is going more than 1 day a week.  So far, both of the boys love their teachers, and are having a great year.  Jackson loves that his teacher, Mrs. Morgan, has a school store that he can earn and buy prizes from each week.  Will loves music and earning prizes.

Ready to go

Sometimes they are sweet to one another

Will still isn't so sure about when I drop him off some mornings, his look says it all

End of Summer

It is crazy that the summer has come and gone so quickly.  Tomorrow will be the first official day of Autumn 2014 Whoo hoo (Although I love summer, I personally can't wait for some cooler temperatures to come this way)!  The last few weeks, we've tried to soak up the last rays of the hot summer sun by going swimming and playing out the in yard with the hose pipe and/or sprinkler.  A few weeks ago Brian got out an old peice of plastic to make a slip and slide.  It took the boys awhile to get the hang of sliding themselves down without having one of us push them, but once they did it they loved it!

We celebrated Brian's 39th birthday a few weeks ago.  We usually don't do very big gifts for one another, because it so hard to actually pick something that he/I really want.  I let the boys pick out some of his favorite candies to give him.  He picked out a new mountain biking water bag for himself.

I couldn't get a good pose for this shot, oh well, Jackson picked out Brian a yummy chocolate mini cake from Publix.  I cooked Mexican food, and we had a little family fiesta.

Funny Conversations

My kids say so many funny and cute things (at least I think so!)  I wish I would remember to write the funnies down before I forget them.  This was our conversation the other night as I was driving us home from my parents' house:

Out of the blue-
Jackson:  When I grow up I'm going to be a racer
Me:  What type of racer?
Jackson: The kind that races cars, or I might be a pizza man
Me:  The one who drives a pizza delivery car or makes the pizza?
Jackson:  Probably the man who makes them
Will:  I want to be the man who makes muffins, (in a very deep voice) I love to eat muffins!

This morning's conversation between the boys-
Will:  (Crying)  Jackson says I smell like a stinky toot
Jackson:  No I didn't I just said you have really stinky breath
Will:  (Stops crying)  Ok
-Apparently smelling like a toot isn't okay, but having stinky breath is permittable
